Telephone Installation Technician

Preferred Communications Systems (PCSI) is a leading installer of business telephone systems and voice and data cabling, and Computer Networks.

We are looking for an experienced service and installation Technician for the Nortel product line. This person will install and maintain new and existing customer base Norstar and BCM phone systems.

What Experience & Skills you Need:

• Minimum of 2 Years of hands on experience with Nortel Products
• Ability to coordinate and install new cable installations.   This includes installation, termination, labeling, and testing of voice and data cables.
• Ability to work with Telco service provider on site performing PRI cutovers
• Perform configuration, installation, and relocation of phone equipment
• Assist end users with basic  telephone related questions and needs,, including basic and admin training
• Coordinate and assist with inside wiring for voice and data
• Telephony Experience with Installation, Maintenance, and Repair.

• Excellent Customer Service Skills
• Ability to Troubleshoot Problems
• Follow Procedures
• Ability to Work with little or no Supervision

What Certifications will be Helpful:

• Norstar CICS & MICS certifications
• Call Pilot Voicemail certifications
• Nortel certified on BCM 50/200/200 systems

It’s a Plus if you also Have:

• Experience with troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing computer hardware, laptops, printers, software and operating systems.
  
  
• Working technical knowledge of current protocols, operating systems, and standards, including Windows 2003, Windows XP, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.
