Network Support Specialist
 

n       Honesty and integrity in all dealings.

n       Understanding of modern technology and its business applications

n       Proven track record demonstrating an ability to work with designing, managing, and troubleshooting information systems technologies in a business environment

n       Deep experience and expertise in Microsoft Windows NT/2000/XP, and related technologies such as backup systems, email systems, virus protection, desktop operating systems, network faxing, contact management, and so forth.
      (Novell NetWare / GroupWise experience a plus)

n       Ability to install, upgrade, and troubleshoot PC-based computer hardware, including server technologies such as SCSI subsystems, RAID systems, and so forth

n       Detailed theoretical and practical knowledge of IP protocols, firewalls, and so forth, including basic router configuration knowledge

n       Experience configuring, installing, and troubleshooting network infrastructure including Ethernet and Fast Ethernet, hubs, switches, and so forth

n       Excellent ability to solve problems independently

n       Excellent communication skills, including fluency in written and spoken English

n       Excellent client service skills

n       A personal vehicle for transportation to and from client sites

n       Ability to lift and move computing equipment

n       At least 4 years paid professional experience in a corporate, consulting, or nonprofit setting managing and servicing networked computer environments

 Education:

n       Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. (Associate's degree also considered with appropriate experience)

 Job Description:

You will provide technical services to our clients at their locations in Chicagoland and the surrounding suburbs. We support all aspects of our clients information systems.

n       Provide superb technical system and user support both to your designated clients and to all clients whose projects you participate in

n       Establish, maintain, and increase client satisfaction through professional, courteous, and caring service

n       Identify client needs, design, propose and implement solutions, including writing recommendations , specifying equipment, assisting in or directly writing proposals

n       Troubleshoot and resolve client network and computer system issues

n       Manage or coordinate installation, upgrade, or deployment projects, including providing onsite direction for additional network Support Specialist

n       Assist network Support Specialist in troubleshooting difficult or time-sensitive problems

n       Assist other PCSI network Support Specialist with projects, as a direct participant, and to lend your unique areas of expertise when required

n       Mentor and assist network Support Specialist, both in technical and human practices

n       Participate in presales process, helping to explain to clients and prospective clients the benefits of the specific technologies being proposed

n       Maintain your knowledge and expertise by learning new and evolving technologies, and achieving appropriate industry and professional certifications

n       Contribute to company vision and direction in helping improve technical practices, as well as choosing key technologies and issues to address as we grow

Location:
 
Our office is located in Tinley Park, IL. You will perform most of your work at our clients' locations which are throughout the Chicagoland metropolitan area.
