Easy to Use!
Laserfiche solutions are built according to standard Windows guidelines. Staffs with modest computer experience are able to begin scanning and retrieving documents almost immediately. Laserfiche is a mature, full-feature document management system that can scale from a desktop installation to an enterprise-wide solution with ease.  The Laserfiche user interface provides perhaps the simplest entry in the document management available.

Robust and Scaleable!
Laserfiche is built upon an N-tier architecture that delivers simplified department-to-enterprise-wide scalability. Optimized for the MS-SQL database platform, Laserfiche enjoys the scalability inherent in that industry standard. Hardware independence also allows organizations to scale repositories using whatever storage devices best suit specific needs. In addition, Laserfiche offers either an embedded database option or the use of the Microsoft Database Engine (MSDE) for smaller groups and stand-alone installations.

Concurrent Licensing.
Laserfiche provides a truly concurrent licensing structure. Instead of purchasing a license for every computer with Laserfiche installed, licenses can be purchased to suit the needs of the number of people enterprise-wide that will use Laserfiche. The number of licenses purchased equals the number of concurrent users of Laserfiche. Full user licenses allow users to perform scanning, retrieval, and administrative tasks. Retrieval licenses allow for performing only searches and retrievals. By buying the less expensive retrieval licenses along with one or two full licenses, organizations can save money.

Intuitive Folder Browser Design!The Laserfiche folder structure provides an intuitive visual filing method. Automated OCR powers full-text indexing, while configurable index cards provide precision document retrieval and indexing for image-only documents.

Comprehensive Security!
Easily configurable access and feature rights and comprehensive audit trails protect the database from unauthorized access. State-of-the-art design introduces a greater level of security, as only the LaserFiche server accesses original document images. The system administrator can specify exactly what each user can do with any document on the system. Furthermore, by allowing for the inheritance of rights via user groups and parent folders, the system administrator can greatly simplify the assignment of rights. Administrators can also use redaction to keep specific information confidential.

Laserfiche 7.0
The release of Laserfiche 7.0 brings a completely new Windows Client and a great deal of new functionality. The new client interface maintains the intuitive look and feel associated with Laserfiche and adheres to the Windows Explorer paradigm more closely than ever before. Laserfiche 7.0 is tightly integrated with Office applications and provides simplified filing of Office documents through the File "Send To" menu in the toolbar. Additionally, importing email and attachments through Outlook has been enhanced and email properties such as subject, sender, recipient and date/time received can be automatically extracted and used to populate LaserFiche template fields.

Laserfiche 7.0 is the foundation of the LaserFiche Records Management Edition that was certified as compliant with the Department of Defense Records Management Standard (DoD 5015.2). A good deal of the features required for DoD compliance have been included in the core product and include template level security, required fields, improved versioning, document linking and informational/security markings.
